Waverly Bay Colosseum

Built for the first ever Waverly Bay Gem Tournament, this stone coliseum stands on its own little Gem-made island some several yards off-shore from the Temple. It was constructed entirely out of sand using Connie Maheswaran's impressive earth powers, along with the combined expertise and oversight of several other Gems. While its facade still retains a sandy texture (and is prone to a little chipping here and there), it is sturdy and structurally sound.

The Colosseum and its isle are connected to the Temple's end of the beach by a sandy land bridge. This bridge is traversable by foot even at high tide, although one is much more likely to come away with wet feet during times when the tide is in. The sand bridge is just wide enough that a vehicle like a dune buggy or ATV could use it to cross to the isle and back if necessary. The waters surrounding the land bridge and the isle have a shallow, gradual slope for the most part, so there is no risk of suddenly falling into deep water because of a push or mis-step. It is also entirely possible to swim to the Colosseum instead of walk for those who choose to do so.

While nearly all of the decorations for the tournament have been taken down, the interior of the Colosseum has a sort of natural beauty. In the center stands a raised arena for combat and training purposes, a set of steps at each end for easy access. A small assortment of equipment leftover from the tournament, such as weights and targets, is stacked to one side of the wall for anyone's use. Up in the stands, there are multiple rows of stone-hard sand seating that, while not exactly comfortable for long periods of time, allow for an unobstructed view of the arena below regardless of where one sits.

The Secret Gem Garden Pamphlet

What the pamphlet covers (any OOC knowledge will be indicated by parentheses):

Inside each pamphlet is a small blurb about the history of the garden and the chamber below it. The garden was initially opened by the power generated through each gem in the Temple getting to know each other (basically the "Power of Friendship" for you My Little Pony fans). The chamber underneath the gazebo was opened by locating three ornamental vases found at the end of three paths within the garden and then filling them with flowers based on the emotions portrayed on each vases' decorations. (The decorations aren't listed in the pamphlet but are very Greco-Roman in style and depict the following: a loving couple, a frightened woman being attacked by a soldier, and a grieving elder surrounded by a sympathetic crowd.)

So that's a cute little story, right?

Except any flowers in the garden, when picked, make the holder experience a specific emotion. This effect will last until the flower is dropped or otherwise removed from the one who picked it. There are a variety of different colors of flowers found within the garden and each color will prompt a different emotion. In the interest of protecting future Temple dwellers who might accidentally wander in, a list was created of each color flower and the emotion it would instill.

(In order to safely figure out what emotion each flower causes, Yang Xiao Long and Weiss Schnee utilized the latter's advanced Empathy gem powers to "sense" the emotions a flower would cause instead of picking them. As such, what's written in the pamphlet is their "best interpretation" of what each flower will do if picked. The original emotions OOC-ly assigned to each color are listed alongside their "IC interpretations" in parentheses here. You can also go to the original event post linked here for the original OOC colors and emotions.)

Red - "Romantic" (Passionate, any interpretation of the word)
Magenta - "Loving" (Loving)
Maroon - "Caring" (Maternal)
Light Pink - "Hungry" (Hungry)
Pink - "Touchy-Feely" (Affectionate)
Purple - "Happy" (Friendly)
Lavender - "Flirty" (Flirtatious)
Indigo - "Kindness" (Sympathetic)
Dark Purple - "Polite" (Respectful)
Dark Blue - "Protective" (Protective)
Blue - "Sensitive" (Defensive)
Light Blue - "Lost, mixed up, dazed, unprepared??? Look just don't touch this one." (Confused)
Dark Green - "Scared" (Frightened)
Green - "Upset" (Annoyed)
Light Green - "Rude" (Contemptuous)
Orange - "Don't pick this one." (Manipulative)
Yellow - "Don't pick this one either." (Insolent)
Black - "THIS ONE IS REALLY BAD NEWS. STAY AWAY." (Murderous)

There's also a brief paragraph mentioning the creatures trapped in crystals in the cavern below the gazebo. Only one creature has been successfully freed from the crystals down there through the combined power and energy of several Gems; that creature being the Temple's friendly neighborhood Griffon.
