[Blake coming to Yang's place of work wasn't unusual. Blake eating there was slightly less common, but still happened.

Blake leaving her tip in a folded napkin was strange, particularly when it had writing on it.]

Meet me at my room tonight.

[Then, apparently deciding that sounded ominous, she added]

For dinner.

[Far from sounding ominous, the invitation to Blake's room is almost enough to warrant an intrigued "Oooooo" from her, even with the writer no longer present. The clarification for dinner however just makes her grin, if with a small affectionate roll of her eyes first at the way the message has been delivered and since Blake isn't present. Nerd.

She pockets the napkin and the tip and then sets about finishing her shift, now beaming and all the more eager for it to end.

And sure enough, that evening finds her strolling up to Blake's door, the same bright smile on her face that she'd had at the diner.]

[ weiss seems a little uneasy when she finds yang. it's not because of yang that she is, but because of the envelope she's holding. ]

Hey, Yang? You didn't pull a prank on me, did you?

[Yang, like the good friend she is, freezes as if she's gotten caught with her hand in the cookie jar.]

Oh gawd...don't tell me, you found out about the hair-dryer?

[And then she notices the unease in Weiss's expression and drops the act.]

No, I've kept my hands clean, I swear. ...Something happen?

[ things are so complicated. ruby's arrival only aggravated weiss' frustration with her partner. hearing that ruby went with those who remained in jnpr to mistral and bring justice upon cinder and her faction made her jealous. jealous that ruby was free, and that she was surrounded by people who cared about her. at the same time, she developed feelings of jealousy towards jaune, nora, and ren who were with ruby - one of the few friends she's ever made in her entire life.

she knows it's selfish, but does that stop her emotions? no. telling ruby about it finally might make the feeling go away, and that was what she was planning to do once ruby came back. her crystal was still with weiss until yesterday. not only did it instil some fear in weiss, but it also brought her down emotionally. fear of eating her own words that ruby will be back. all of this is a matter of pride.

but. she's also disappointed because she was finally going to set things straight with ruby. she was finally going to fight for her friend and get her back. too bad that isn't happening now. who knows when it will happen?

yang was away when ruby's crystal disappeared, which made things even more uncomfortable. how is she supposed to break the news to the blonde? with a heavy heart, that's how. and by the 27th, weiss establishes a mental link to yang, asking her if she'll be home soon. upon receiving a response, she makes sure that she's right outside the house, by the steps from the porch down to the front yard. the look on her face makes it obvious that what she has to say isn't good news, too. ]

[The crystal gathering quest was a rousing success and Yang's still riding the high of a mission completed as she strides back to the house, even waving enthusiastically to Weiss when she spots her waiting outside the house.]

Hey Weiss!!!

[Admittedly she hadn't thought too much of Weiss's asking after when she'd be back, assuming it either had to do with scheduling or, perhaps more likely, chores, but the look on Weiss's face is like a bucket of cold water hitting her. Her own expression starts to sober in response as she asks, almost hesitantly.]

I hope this letter finds you well. I know it's strange to say that when we live in the same house, but it's the perfect introduction to a letter.

I'm writing to you due to one of the tasks that was posted on the taskboard. I fully support the mailing system in Verens, and I sincerely hope that more people continue to write letters. Not only is it more personal than texts, but there's a piece of tradition left in each letter that I truly hope never goes away.

Doesn't it also feel good to receive a letter? It's definitely a much better feeling than receiving a text, especially since everybody can receive one if you just give them your number.

Hello, Yang. I made an excursion to Sharnaath not long ago and was able to make some extra money taking their surplus of flowers away. It's certainly backwards from home, where we would have to pay for them. I'm not complaining, however. I hope they brighten your room and make you smile.

[Well this is...honestly the best kind of surprise she's gotten in awhile? It's been ages since anybody gifted her with flowers at the very least.

And upon reading the card and who they're from, she's even more touched??? To the point where she's glad nobody else is here to see her face because okay maybe she's getting a little teary-eyed, look her dad grows sunflowers and these're reminding her of home and just the whole thing is really sweet, Pyrrha you're literally too good for the mortal plane.

Whatever she's got on her desk or side table right now, it's going to be pushed to the floor to make space for a vase to hold these in.

And Pyrrha's getting a big old thank you squeeze next time she sees her.]

[ It's another rough night of dreams that have Ruby tossing and turning. They're full of vivid things that have been becoming clearer night after night - dark things, that she hadn't named to her team or friends because she hadn't wanted to upset them. Things had been emotionally-charged around the house anyway, and far be it from her to add to anyone's burden unnecessarily. After all, they're just dreams, and dreams can't hurt anyone.

Right?

This morning when she wakes, however, things are...different. Or rather, Ruby herself is different. It's evident from the very way that she wakes, slowly sitting up in bed and staring forlornly out the window instead of jumping up and meeting the day head-on. She's...quiet. Very quiet, and thoughtful. Every day she's in Empatheias is a day she's not at home, avenging her sister and bringing justice to the world by stopping the White Fang. It's hard to feel like it's not a waste of time to be here.

But that doesn't mean she can sit and languish, either. That's not what Branwens do. They keep on fighting, despite everything. So with a heavy sigh, Ruby swings her legs off the side of the bed and drops gingerly to the floor.

...That's strange. Why was her bed suspended? It was only her and Weiss in this room.

She realizes all-too-quickly, then, that there's another bed in the room. Another person, and as Ruby swings around to face that person's sleeping form, she's gasps, hands flying to cover her mouth. ]

Y-Yang?!

[ N-no. It...couldn't be. She has to be dreaming still. ]

[On the adjacent bed is Yang, sleeping on her back above the covers as Ruby might remember her being partial to doing, and sleeping rather peacefully at that. Her right arm is dangling out of sight off the other side of the bed, while her left is laid across her stomach, gently rising and falling with her breaths.

At Ruby's call of her name, the reaction is almost immediate, her brows scrunching together and a small noise of complaint escapes her along with a tired mumble.]

Just five more minutes, Ruby...

EMP - Meeting at the Dreamhouses

[As the night goes on, there's plenty of dancing and enjoyment of food, music, and company. Hunk hasn't forgotten his meeting with the mysterious woman he danced with earlier. Never one to go back on his word, he makes his way over to the special area designated for people to properly party down. With the mask on, he's still feeling like the charming and daring character he's been playing up all evening.

Grabbing one of the glasses filled with bubbly wine, he sips on it while strolling through the various set ups for people to relax in, eyes looking out for his previous dance partner.]

[Hopefully she won't be too hard to find. She's still got her own mask on, lounging in one of the overly plush couches in a manner amusingly befitting the draconic appearance of it. She's listening to one of the musicians, her own glass of wine in hand, and a suspiciously placed cushion covering what looks like might be a bottle of the stuff on the floor next to her.

When she spies him, she sits up, waving him over enthusiastically.]

[ A day or two after everyone returns from Briarlan, Pyrrha will seek out Yang by touching her thoughts with a soft voice. ]

[Yang's likely never gonna get used to hearing other voices in her head but at least the soft way Pyrrha asks only makes her jolt a little.]

Pyrrha? [Wait, yeah, that's definitely Pyrrha.] Uhh...sure.

Dear Yang,

Now that you are under my tutelage, I will be expecting you to spare 10-30 minutes of your morning to meditate.

I'm also expecting you to be able to create something with your emotions. It doesn't have to be big. Being able to burn a small piece of wood or changing the colour of a leaf will do. It's small things like these that will help you be more in tune with the magic within you.

When it takes little effort for you to be able to channel your emotions into something tangible, let me know. We'll begin combat training.

[ Sometime after Jaune and Pyrrha returned from their trip and Yang comes back from her own excursion, it seems that Jaune is walking around the house with a new swagger. He's obnoxiously happy and wants to make sure the whole house is in high spirits, too!

Honestly, it's a lot like this.

He's even picturing a soundtrack to his life as he dances around, fixing small random things in the house, like a crooked painting, a slow clock, things like that. He even points at Zwei just before he's about to pee on the carpet, then gestures him to take it outside. Oddly enough, the dog obeys! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY.

...Anyway, Jaune and Yang find each other in the kitchen! ]

By her feet, she will find a box containing colourful dumbells. Each time Yang uses them and holds them up, the dumbells make a "quack" noise.

[ Weiss is not one for cheesy things, but she has to show her appreciation to Yang in some way, right? She'll just have to drop the cold princess act and be nice for once!!

It's why when she catches Yang (hopefully) alone, she decides to make her move.

She knocks on the door frame or whatever surface is nearby and poses, casually leaning on whatever... is also nearby! This is her attempt at trying to be flirty the same way Yang does it, but she doesn't. . . look good like this, tbh.

Cradled in her arms is a light blue box with a silver Schnee snowflake emblemed at the front. ]
